Hank's Bikes

Here is the current collection of bikes in the Bauer garage.

"Flagship" the 2004 Roadglide is the main ride for really going anywhere, with comfort, secure storage, and dependability. Found it at a good price when it was about a year old, in Ohio, and accomplished documented and certified IRON BUTT Awards for "Bun Burner" (Over 1,000 miles in 24 hours) and "SADDLESORE" (Over 1,500 miles in 36 hours) on its maiden voyage from the previous owners driveway in Ohio to my motel in Pegosa Springs for the Four Corners Ralley. Amy first saw the Colorado Rockies from the back seat, and the bike will always carry special memories for us.

The Trusty Softail. Bought new in 1997 and served as the Main Ride for several years. Fifty-four thousand nearly trouble free miles since then, including two each trips to Sturgis and Daytona Bike Week.

1962 Panbob Acquired in incredibly broken down condition, and brought back to life mostly by good friend and "in house" mechanic/welder/fabricator extroidinair, Tommy Britts. Thats diamond plate aluminum stock that was laying around the shop when Tommy was ready for a fender and a gas tank. Difficult to operate, punishing for more than forty miles from home, but a perinnial favorite at the bar.

The Ducati - 2004 1000DS Multistrada. I always wanted a Ducati, and finally decided it was time, after some success with some sport bike cases, to expand horizons into the sport bike world (this isnt really a sport bike, but it is as close as this old man gets). As we have all heard, it is a screamer, wheelies occur without really trying.

The Trident: 1975 Triumph T160 3 cylinder 750cc, Bought as only bike on discharge from the Airforce for commuting to lawschool. First date with Mother of all children on this bike. Converted to club racer in 1991, inclduing 867cc "California Big Bore Kit", with 10 to 1 compression, also Boyer electronic ignition.
